SnoBalls: A New Orleans favorite. Snoballs are made of ice the "texture of velvet," and sweet, rich syrups of all persuasions. They're served in a paper cup with a straw and a spoon, often with additional toppings, like sweet condensed milk. Any self-respecting New Orleans Snoball stand carries upwards of 50 flavors, and anyone who's had a Louisiana Snoball will tell you that garden variety Snokones are little more than uninspired imitations.
Machine Operation Instructions
Important Machine Facts:
CAPACITY:
The machine produces 150 to 300 lbs of ice per hour
and accepts
ice cubes or small chuncks (3" or so) of block ice.
Weight:
30 lbs.
Height: 18"
Width: 22"
Depth: 16"
Power:
110 volts, 6.8 amps; no dedicated circuit required.
1.
The SnoKone Machine can take ice cubes or block ice broken into small (3" or so) chunks. The bigger the ice piece, the better the snow.
2.
The ice will not enter the shaving chute if its
too large.
3.
The design of the shaving chute automatically draws the ice
against the blades. There is no need for manual effort.
4.
As a safety feature, the motor will only run while the motor
button is depressed.
Using
the Machine:
1.
Set the cabinet on the drip tray. Make sure to put the drain
hole over an area that is okay to get wet or into a bucket.
Melted ice, and condensation go into the drip tray.
2.
Plug in machine. Turn on light switch (located on front of
cabinet). Light will come on in cabinet.
3.
Push and hold the motor button.
4.
Wait for the motor to come to full speed.
5.
Fill the gooseneck to within an inch of the top with ice cubes
or block ice. The larger the pieces, the better the snow.
6.
Push the pusher handle down against the ice in the gooseneck.
Apply firm and even pressure to make the best snow.
7.
Too much pressure will result in snow that is coarse; too
little pressure will make the snow mushy.
8.
Repeat steps 3 - 6 until you have enough shaved ice.
Cleaning
Instructions:
1.
Wipe all water and any syrup off of the cabinet inside and
out.
2.
Clean the drip pan, ladle, ice scoop, and all syrup bottles.
3.
Make sure the empty syrup bottle come back clean.
