Slushie:
An iced drink that originated in US convenience stores, usually made with a flavored syrup or fruit juice poured over crushed ice and blended. Can be made with equal parts fresh fruit and crushed ice, blended together.

Smoothie:
An iced, non-alcholic drink made with fresh fruit, juice pulp and crushed ice, or with milk, ice cream or yogurt. Invented as part of the California health scene, but based on Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine.
